Muscle Shoals Industrial Safety Products & Services

The Certex branch in Muscle Shoals carries a wide variety of safety products including rigging equipment and lifting supplies. We also specialize in fall protection, providing not just the equipment you need, but comprehensive training for your workforce.

In addition to Muscle Shoals, there are Alabama locations in Birmingham and Mobile. In fact, there are 34 locations in the U.S. servicing 11 states from California to South Carolina. We’ve been in business for over 50 years, which is why we’re a trusted supplier in Alabama and around the country.

The Muscle Shoals branch provides products and services to a variety of industries – from agriculture to manufacturing to steel. Find out why companies like Bunge Corporation, B&B Roadway and Nucor Steel turn to Certex for their safety needs.

This is just a sample of our clients and the industries we work with, as we provide safety products and services to companies across the state and beyond. For example, one of our high-profile projects includes supplying the US Corps of Engineers with the cable assemblies for locks at the Wilson Dam, Guntersville Dam and Kentucky Dam. Wilson Dam is a dam spanning the Tennessee River between Lauderdale County and Colbert County in Alabama. Guntersville Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Tennessee River in Marshall County, Alabama. Kentucky Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Tennessee River on the county line between Livingston and Marshall counties in Kentucky.

No matter the size or scope of your project, our Muscle Shoals team is ready to help you determine the products best suited for your job. You can count on the experienced staff, led by manager Danny Elliott, to meet your safety needs. Our branch is open Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm and Friday 7:00-4:00pm, but we are available 24/7.

Rigging Equipment & Lifting Supplies

Looking for rigging equipment and lifting supplies in Alabama? You’ve come to the right place. Our location at 1904 Webster Street can help with all your rigging and lifting needs. We carry а large inventory of rigging hardware such as hooks, shackles, turnbuckles, blocks, and more.

For cargo control, we have a full line of chains, binders, and winches. We also offer lever hoists, chain falls, and air and electric hoists from some of the worlds most respected manufactures.

We have a wide variety of wire rope accessories like locking hooks, eye hooks, swivel hooks, sliding choker hooks, sliding latch type choker hooks, snap hooks, swivels, wire rope thimbles, and turnbuckles.

At Certex Muscle Shoals, we also house specialty equipment such as a 100 Ton test bed, which is used to tension test lifting gear. We can also perform rigging inspections on your job site. Because of our proximity to the Tennessee River, we carry equipment specific to boating such as boat hoists.

Rope

You’ll find a variety of wire rope constructions and capacities at Certex. From small diameter GAC wire ropes to large high-performance ropes, you will discover that there isn’t just one type of wire rope that’s perfect for every job.

Wire rope is made up of all independent parts – wires, strands and cores – that continuously interact with each other during service. Wire rope engineers design those parts in differing steel grades, finishes and a variety of constructions to attain the best balance of strength, abrasion resistance, crush resistance, bending fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance for each application.

If you need something lighter than wire rope, we specialize in AmSteel®-Blue and Stable Braid. AmSteel®-Blue is a torque-free, 12-strand single braid that yields the maximum in strength-to-weight ratio and, size-for-size, is the same strength as steel—yet it floats. AmSteel®-Blue is a proven cost-saving replacement for wire rope in key applications where strength, weight and safety are important.

Fall Protection Equipment & Training

Certex Muscle Shoals provides an extensive inventory of fall protection equipment from top manufacturers like 3M, Climbtech and Latchways Fall Protection. Our staff is experienced in fall protection and can conduct training right on your job site.

You also have the option to send your team to our Tucson AZ or Bakersfield CA branches where we have two of the country’s best Fall Protection and Rescue Training facilities. There your team will participate in immersive learning with 8 hours of hand-on experience working with equipment from over 20 different manufacturers. The modern, climate-controlled environment creates ideal surroundings and every course meets or exceeds applicable ANSI Z359, OSHA Sub Part M, CSA and manufacturers requirements.

We have a two-day course for fall-protection competent person (which includes equipment inspector training), an authorized user course, equipment inspector course and competent person refresher.

Proper training increases profitability and productivity for your company, and we can create courses specific to your needs. We also provide expert consulting and hazard analysis.
