Rope

We carry a wide variety of lifting and rigging products including wire rope and synthetic rope.

Wire rope is made up of all independent parts – wires, strands and cores – that continuously interact with each other during service. Wire rope engineers design those parts in differing steel grades, finishes and a variety of constructions to attain the best balance of strength, abrasion resistance, crush resistance, bending fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance for each application.

If you need something lighter than wire rope, we specialize in AmSteel®-Blue and Stable Braid. AmSteel®-Blue is a torque-free, 12-strand single braid that yields the maximum in strength-to-weight ratio and, size-for-size, is the same strength as steel—yet it floats. AmSteel®-Blue is a proven cost-saving replacement for wire rope in key applications where strength, weight and safety are important.

Slings

Different slings have different purposes, and you can count on the CERTEX team to select the right product for your job. Wire rope slings are more robust and durable than nylon slings and have higher temperature limits. Wire mesh slings are used in industries where loads can be abrasive or tend to cut web slings. On the other hand, web slings will not damage or scratch the surfaces of your products being lifted.

Our Cocoa location specializes in custom sling fabrication — including wire rope, chain, and web slings — as well as mechanical and welded chain assemblies. You’ll find a full line of quality single-, double-, triple-, and quadruple-leg chain slings for all your lifting needs, along with three-point suspension, Steady-Lift magnet chains, and chain sling fittings.

Fall Protection Equipment & Training

CERTEX Cocoa provides an extensive inventory of fall protection equipment. For example, we specialize in vertical, horizontal and overhead lifeline systems. Our equipment comes from top manufacturers like 3M, Climbtech and Latchways Fall Protection. Our staff is experienced in fall protection and can conduct training right on your job site.

You also have the option to send your team to our Tucson, AZ or Bakersfield, CA branches where we have two of the country’s best Fall Protection and Rescue Training facilities. There your team will participate in immersive learning with 8 hours of hand-on experience working with equipment from over 20 different manufacturers. The modern, climate-controlled environment creates ideal surroundings and every course meets or exceeds applicable ANSI Z359, OSHA Sub Part M, CSA and manufacturers requirements.
